your role

  • Deliver complex energy models based on regression, neural networks, and other models for forecasting, portfolio management, and risk management.

  • Develop financial models to assess the relative profitability under various market scenarios.

  • Lead the development of models to assess customer value (NPV) based on segmentation, product and customer characteristics.

  • Do quantitative analysis on wholesale portfolio & risk

  • Develop risk metrics and models to calculate and asses them, e.g. VaR, gross margin at risk

  • Develop models that support various hedging strategies & KPIs/KRIs for energy business

  • Help in the development of variance analysis on all of the above topics

  • Work together with our existing customers and prospects to validate our learnings, prototypes and ideas

your responsibilities

As a portfolio and risk specialist, you join the product team to design the ideal solution to optimally manage energy portfolio risk both for commodity and non-commodity. You work together with our clients, prospects, solution architects and engineers to distil requirements for calculation models, identifying specific data needs and algorithms. With your knowledge of the energy market, you are able to represent and demonstrate Gorilla’s beautiful solution as well as prototypes to customers and prospects.

As a strong believer in co-creation and teamwork, you naturally do all of this in close collaboration with your colleagues.

Requirements

  • Strong background of simulation, modelling, and statistical analysis.

  • Experience in energy portfolio optimisation & energy risk management at a utility retailer.

  • You thrive on understanding and solving complex problems.

  • You understand the energy market inside out, and are following up on the latest advancements.

  • You’re fluent in English.

  • You have strong communication skills, both written and oral

  • Well developed team building and networking skills to enable effective collaboration, engagement, and be able to influence people of all levels

  • You are a people person, just as much as a subject matter expert.
